about
“Valerian” is a song about about living in the world today. It's about heroes, about needing heroes and about becoming heroes.
No matter where in the world we are we see injustice and corruption.
While these evils may be part of our human nature, so are our virtues.
I think most hero themed stories, comics and movies etc. are trying to touch on this internal struggle and celebrate those who choose to fight injustice and corruption instead of succumbing to it.
I drew initial inspiration from the basic morality of the Valerian stories and all other heroic tales applying them to the world I find myself in.
I think stories like this continue to be told because we need to hear them.
